Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has declared Friday July 31, 2020 a public holiday.

All Kenyans are expected to join members of the Muslim faith to mark Idd-ul-Azha.

CS Matiangi, however, instructed that the ceremonies should be carried out with minimal person to person contact. So as to minimize the risk of the spread of coronavirus which has become highly widespread.

“In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and in fidelity with the Resolutions of the Fifth Session of the National and County Governments Co-ordinating Summit, all ceremonies in celebration of Idd-ul- Azha will be marked with minimal person to person contact,”

he said

According to the COVID-19 restrictions, gatherings are now limited to a maximum of fifteen people.

Matiang’i, however, wished our Muslim brothers and sisters the best in their celebrations.

We wish to take this opportunity to wish our Muslim Brothers and Sisters around the world and all those of other beliefs who will join them in celebrating Idd-ul-Azha,”

Matiang’i- disarm the members of county government

Matiang’ i earlier today condemned members of the government erwho are misusing their privileges. As a result, he demanded that the county members be disarmed. Because he suspects that there could be more firearms.

He urged for honesty and transparency from members of the parliament. This was after once MCA was attacked yesterday.
